The work; “Method” is based on one of the artist’s previous performance. The period in which this work was created in, was a time that the artist had felt stuck and unable act. Meanwhile “Gezi Park Protests” were over and the people had less space to move in the streets, they were under continuous surveillance of the cameras and the police and they could not move.
Here the method is the ladder; fear and anxiety sometimes prevent us from seeing the method before us. The inner movement experienced before the action, the inability to move, being stuck in the gap between reality and dreams, the state of searching for a method brought about by not finding a way out. This state of being stuck is valid for all societies at the moment.
During this performance, the artist watched the staircase from where she stood for two hours and recorded it. In this record, Eldek performed while bearing the unchanged feeling as in a photo shot, how she was stuck for a period of time and her search for a method. The short video recording of the performance has been shared.
