the hurricane
photographs and a poem, 2017
In the photography series “Kasırga / The hurricane”, the artist displayed the photographs she has taken based on her poem “Kasırga”. During the process after the artist had written the poem, she focused mainly on moments of breaking and destruction and this destruction could become alive again in time. As the artist experienced the permeability of the feeling this destruction has caused, this photography series were created over the course of time. This photography series has been exhibited in Berlin/ Aff Galerie under the title “Turkish Contemporary Photography / TRANS FORM FAULT”.
Kasırga uyandı
yumuşak aktı tepelerde
sinsi sinsi içerledi tümcelerde
ahladı böğürdü yükseklerde
kasırga uyandı
bir kasırga uyandı
sönmeyen sonsuz uçlarda
bir tilki vardı.
kuyruğunu salladı göğe
yükseklerde uçtu bir kartal
simgeler belirdi toprakta
bir kasırga vakti
büründü rüzgar
yersiz tümsekler
düpedüz ovalar
kesik otlar
çarpık bacaklar
kovalayan atlar
kovalayan atalar
bir kasırga uyandı içimde
hırçın dalgalar
dolunay
kaba halkalar
ıslak halkalar
yürüdü ovada
içiçe geçti
üstüste bindi
uçtu gitti
kasırga dindi
The hurricane woke up
Mellowly, flew down from the hills
Sneakily resented among the words
Cried at the tops
The hurricane woke up
A hurricane woke up
At the unquenchable eternal ends,
There was a fox.
Shook its tail towards the sky
An eagle flew high up
Signs appeared on the earth
It’s a hurricane time
The wind wrapped up
The ordinary flat plains,
Sheared weed,
Bandy legs
Chaser horses
Chaser pasts
A hurricane woke up inside of me
Peevish waves
Full moon
Rough rings,
Wet rings,
Walked on the plain
They meshed,
Lapped over,
Flew away,
The hurricane
